Improving Mission Innovation

In 2003, realizing the cultural challenges of world missions, anthropology student, Bryan D. Sisson, had the determined foresight to establish a private foundation for the advancement of missionary endeavors of the Restoration Movement. His personal attention to this dream visualized the importance of advancing Christianity around the world by supporting missionaries who sacrificially carry that message into the 21st century.  The Antioch Foundation focuses on that vision by  supporting cutting-edge ministry implementation,  recognizing those servants whose exemplary ministries  light the way for  generations to come, and encouraging the best and  brightest students to ready themselves for the challenges ahead.

Program and Project Grants
Ministry affects the way  we view life and live in the world. Effective missionary outreach provides imperative realization of compassion and hope in Christ to lost people groups around the globe.  Providing a strong financial base for future development of Christianity in diverse cultures stands as the initial goal of the Foundation.  Applicants are urged to apply for Grants that are specific to mission outreach and which will further the advancement the Gospel of Christ for generations to come.  Applicants must present mission needs which are clearly articulated to meet the established tax-exempt purposes of the Antioch Foundation.

Awards for Mission Servants
The Antioch Foundation strongly encourages the talent, dedication, and contributions that emerging and eminent missionaries have made to fulfill the great commission. The Antioch Foundation recognizes individual servants at all stages of their careers.  For those in the earliest phase of their mission work, "The Timothy Award” gives special recognition and encouragement to continue.  Mid-career missionaries, who have demonstrated many accomplishments and whose work promises so much more, are eligible for "The Barnabas Award”.  Finally, "The Apostle Paul Award” honors those whose lifetime commitment reflects outstanding accomplishments, and who have served as exemplars to others to achieve on the mission field.

Scholarship Awards
Expanding mission ministry cannot thrive without nourishing our most intelligent and inquiring minds to pursue the discipline of serving Christ on the mission field. The Antioch Foundation funds scholarships for college students through the “Restoration Heritage Scholarship Award” program.   The scholarships assist distinguished students with an express interest as a missions candidate to attend college in preparation for their work in global evangelism.  Scholarships for academically gifted graduate students who are furthering their education for the mission field are also awarded annually.

Since it’s beginning in June of 2003, the Antioch Foundation has forged the way, as a leader in maximizing stewardship potential to better the advancement of world wide accomplishments for Christ. In the fall of 2003, the Board of Trustees and staff launched the, “CAMPAIGN FOR A NEW CENTURY OF MISSIONS OUTREACH”, to extend that influence and make an even greater impact. This effort, the first fundraising campaign in the Foundation's history, seeks to raise $1 million by 2010.
